RESEARCH

My primary focus is cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and aging. I have developed two widely used methodological tools: 1) the Hazuda Ethnic Algorithm for classifying persons as Mexican American or European American, and 2) the Hazuda Acculturation and Assimilation Scales designed to measure multiple dimensions of acculturation and assimilation of Mexican Americans to the broader American society.
